FAQ

When is the best time to contact you?

The earlier the better! It is best if you contact us before your event is publicly announced, as communicating about childcare services is one of the keys to the success of a temporary daycare centre. Have an idea of your schedule? After a quick conversation, we can propose a package that works best for you.

What are your logistics needs?

We only ask for an enclosed space with a door to welcome children. We cannot have children in our responsibility in a park without have a place where we can gather them together. The size of the space will depend on the number of kids in attendance.

How much does it cost?

Depending on the duration of the service, the necessary transport and the nature of the activities, we can propose a rate that ranges from $16 an hour to $20 an hour per child in attendance (from 1 to 12 years old). PopupCamp hopes to provide a service that is accessible as possible.

Who pays for the service?

Just like for the caterer, it is the organizer of the event who pays the cost for childcare. Some organizers see it as a regular fee, others amortize the cost in the price of the tickets for sale, have the service directly sponsored by a third party, or have parents pay for a portion of the cost by creating a separate ticket for children.

Do you provide food?

We do not prepare meals. We can recommend catering professionals and can sometimes offer simple snacks, like fruits. However, if you already have your caterer and a meal is planned for the children during the day care service, we will be happy to have the children eat in the space provided for the day care service.

My child has specific needs, can I still sign them up for PopupCamp?

You can sign up your child if they do not need personalized assistance at all times. We’re very sorry, but we unfortunately do not have the human or material resources to accommodate children whose condition does not allow them to be part of a group. If your child comes with their own caretaker, they can of course join the group.

Do parents always have to reserve a place for their children?

No, each organizer chooses how the event will function. Some will sell tickets for children, others will ask parents to fill out a form, and some wish to not have a mechanism for registration.

Can you send a caretaker to my home?

Unfortunately, we do not offer individual childcare services. Our team of educators travels in groups of 2 minimum.
